About Sydney
Collaborative Mediation was founded by Anne Harwood and Sydney McDowell in 2003 as Harwood & McDowell. In 2006 Anne decided to retire. The business and work of Collaborative Mediation continues under Sydney's name.
Sydney McDowell has been a mediator since 2001. She is court appointed in family and small business matters to the Maine District Court. Sydney has significant experience working with those in transition. Prior to becoming a mediator, she worked as a licensed clinical counselor and has experience as a group facilitator, an individual counselor, and program developer. Sydney is currently a member of the Advisory Council to the USM Mental Health Program, and a trainer for the Alternatives to Violence Project.
